State Is In Fore Front In Use Of IT: CM

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has accepted a suggestion to share its e-governance initiative ‘Mee Seva’ with other states. The suggestion was made by J. Satyanarayana, secretary, Union department of electronics and information technology, at the e-India programme here on Thursday.

Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that the State was in the fore front in making use of I T. He said that ‘Mee Seva’ has greatly benefited the common man. According to one estimate, this has saved annually Rs.4,000 crore to Rs.6,000 crore which the citizens used to pay as bribe to government officers at various levels for the services. He said now the Government planned to use the information and communication technology in health services aimed at pregnant women.

He said the Government proposed to bring-in more services under the purview of ‘Mee Seva’ to benefit the people. (NSS)
