APTransco has stated that there was power crisis in the State because of gas shortage, non-availability of grid and paucity of rains.
In a statement today, the APTransco stated that the state was purchasing 29 million units of power to mitigate the situation. It stated power cut for three hours was being imposed in Hyderabad, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam and Warangal, district headquarters and municipal corporations for five hours and in municipalities and mandal headquarters for six hours. In the rural areas, it stated that power was being supplied only from 6 pm to 6 am.
Stating that there would be no power supply to industries for three days in a week, Transco said it was imposing a power holiday of 12 days for industries. However, power was being provided for seven hours a day for the agriculture, Transco added. (NSS)
