Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday approved the file seeking the permission for prosecution of Senior IAS officer Y Sri Lakshmi, both under Criminal Procedure Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.
The Central Bureau of Investigation had earlier sought permission for prosecution of Y Lakshmi. According to a media release from the Chief Minister’s Office, the government has approved the prosecution in view of the serious charges against her. It may mentioned that Sri Lakshmi was arrested by the CBI for her alleged involvement in the illegal mining case of Obulapuram Mining Corporation owned by former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
