Start early for exams, students told

Hyderabad, March 06: With the proposed ‘Million March’ by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) on March 10 nearing, school authorities have begun advising students to leave from home early to reach their examination centres in time.

With the state board Intermediate examinations scheduled to begin on March 7 and the CBSE and ICSE exams already underway, parents and students are worried about reaching the examination venues on time and of safety on the day of the march. But even with a small hope that the march will be postponed, school managements are advising students to start from their homes as early as 6 a.m.

“We cannot do much in this situation. Either the Intermediate Board or the Telangana-JAC should budge from their stand in the interest of the students.

But if the examinations are delayed or re-conducted in case of students missing them and a resultant court directive, students from the state would miss out on many competitive examinations held at the national level as they will not alter their dates for Andhra Pradesh students,” said Vasi reddy Amarnath, chairman of ‘Slate, the School’.

Also the ICSE and the CBSE examinations are held on the same day across the country which means that the dates cannot be changed for one particular state.

Meanwhile, parents are also worried about the safety of their children on March 10.

For students also, the ‘Million March’ is adding to their nervousness about the crucial examinations.

“We are not sure what will be happen on March 10. It’s difficult to concentrate on studying other subjects apart from the one scheduled on March 10,” said Sai M, an intermediate student.
