About 50 stalls set up in an exhibition at Kukatapalli and three lorries parked there were completely gutted in a major fire here today. The cause of the fire was stated to be electric short circuit, Fire Regional Officer G V Narayan Rao told mediapersons at the exhibition venue. The exact loss of property in the fire was yet to be ascertained, but it is expected to run in to crores of rupees. Fire tenders from Madhapur and Jeedimetla rushed to the spot and doused the flames, he said, adding the exhibition authorities has not maintained safety norms. UNI
