Stage set for fish medicine in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The district administration is making all efforts to make foolproof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual fish medicine administration programme to be held at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally from June 8 at 9 am to June 9.

A temporary control room has been established and over 35 surveillance cameras have been set up at the venue to monitor the movement of the crowd. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) D Joel Davis, as many as 1,000 police personnel would be deployed for the event, who would be assisted by over 1,000 volunteers roped in from various voluntary organisations. He informed that over 1.50 lakh people are likely to avail the free administration of fish ‘medicine’.

Bathini Harinath Goud, who belongs to fourth generation of the family, revealed that the Goud family has been administering the ‘fish medicine’ to asthma patients since 1840.

As reported by Telangana Today, Fisheries department would be providing around two lakhs fingerlings to enable Bathini’s family administer ‘medicine’.
