BJP today asserted that now stage is set for ouster of Congress party in the country.
Speaking to the media here after jubilant celebrations over victory of party in four States, senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said elections results clearly indicate that the people are against Congress rule across the country and they are looking forward BJP as an alternative.
Development and good governance of BJP-ruled States was well accepted in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh States while in Rajasthan people were fed up with the Congress government and they ousted it, he said and admitted that there was some setback for the party in Chhattisgarh.
Naidu, however, said the Congress party got some benefit in a district following killing of their leaders in a naxal attack in Chhattisgarh. But, BJP got support for developmental and welfare programs that were taken up in Chhattisgarh State, he said.
In Delhi, anti-Congress votes went to Aam Adami Party where voters defeated three-time Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit of Congress. But the BJP has to analyse what were the reasons that it failed to get much anti-Congress votes, he said, adding that though the Congress party tried its best to lure the votes by announcing various lollipops, but voters have supported BJP.
Stating that there was anti-Congress wave across the country, Naidu said impact of party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is universal which added to party’s campaign. Though local candidates, combinations and local issues may have some effect, but at national level, BJP would be an alternative and it will win comfortably and Narendra Modi would be India’s Prime Minister.
A large number of State leaders, including State party chief G Kishan Reddy, national party vice-president Bandaru Dattatreya, Dr K Laxman, N Ramachander Rao and others were present at the press conference.(NSS)
