New Delhi, August 13: The slanging match between the BJP and Congress is expected to peak on Friday in Vadodara, with both sides preparing their ranks for a big turnout to hear the “ultimate truth” about each other.
While former BJP president Rajnath Singh will be in the city to take part in the party’s initiative of Nyay Saptah (Week for Justice), Congress is geared up for its Satya Ujagar (Unearthing of Truth) rally to be led by Gujarat Congress president Siddharth Patel on the same day.
The BJP has already been holding rallies and debates across the state over the past few days on the CBI’s role in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case. On Friday, Singh will interact with people at a programme to be held at Satyam Shivam Sundaram Hall at Jubilee Baug at 4.30 pm. “CBI is being used as a political tool of the UPA government. We have invited various intellectuals of the city who would interact with Singh,” said Bharat Dangar, city BJP president.
On the other hand, state Congress leaders will hold forth at Gandhinagar Gruh on BJP’s allegations about the CBI. “The issue is a judicial one and BJP is slinging mud on us to divert the issue. We will also be releasing a booklet on the corruption on the part of the Gujarat government in central schemes,” said Suresh Patel, city Congress president.
