Hyderabad, October 23: Stage is set for the arrest of TDP legislator from Devarakadra, Sita Dayakar Reddy and a ZPTC member while a Congress MPP member surrendered before the police for driving the Agricultural Officer Rajeswari to commit suicide in Mahaboobnagar district recently.
Rajeswari, in her dying declaration recorded by the Magistrate, has mentioned the names of the MLA, MPP member Bharati Reddy and ZPTC member Pradeep Goud.
According to police sources, Rajeswari stated that all three people’s representatives were intimidating her to include the names of their followers for sanction of sprinkler systems and allegedly threatened her if she failed to do so.
As the news spread, Bharati Reddy surrendered before the Mahaboobnagar district SP G Sudheer Babu in the evening.
She was formally arrested and the police would produce her before the Magistrate shortly. Sources said that Sita Dayakar Reddy was not at her residence in CC Kunta and her mobile phone was switched off.
“She is not in Mahaboobnagar and she could be in Hyderabad. We will arrest her shortly,’’ a police official said.
Based on the dying declaration, the Mahaboobnagar district police have altered the Sections to 306 IPC (abetment to commit suicide), 506 IPC (criminal intimidation) and Section 189 IPC (threatening a public servant).
Sources said that though two dying declarations were recorded, it was based on the first DD that the police altered the Sections.
“We will consider the second DD during the course of investigation,’’ sources said. Rajeswari set herself on fire in her house on the night of October 14 after a meeting with Sita Dayakar Reddy. The third accused in the case, Pradeep Goud is also being arrested shortly.
