The Congress party high command has started cracking the whip on party leaders for indulging in anti-party activities.
As the high command has given the green signal, the TPCC today issued show cause notices to senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member Palvai Goverdhan Reddy and Nizamabad MLC Rajeshwar Rao, it is learnt. It may be recalled that Goverdhan Reddy’s daughter Sravanthi is contesting the Munugode Assembly seat, which was given to the CPI as part of its alliance with that left party, as a rebel Congress candidate. Union Minister Jairam Ramesh has recently called on Palvai and tried to persuade him to see that his daughter withdrew from the contest, but she stayed put in the contest, disrespecting the high command.(NSS)
