Govt. of Telangana began Swachh Hyderabad campaign. During the programme TRS leaders cleaned one of the oldest Masajid located in Prof. Jai Shankar Telangana State Agricultural University. ‘Masjid Bukhari’ which is known as Masjid Husaini was surrounded by shrubs and a huge pile of bottles and garbage filled the inside area of the masjid.
The masjid could be restored thanks to the efforts made by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali and others. He had visited the masjid in November 2010 and appealed to restore it. Dr. N A Ansari who is serving as Controller of Examination along with his colleagues also played important role in restoring the Masjid. Not only the masjid was cleaned and whitewashed but Muslim staff members and students began offering Namaz in the masjid.
