Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) Managing Director N Sridhar called on South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager PK Srivastava and requested him to augment the supply of railway rakes from the present level of 23 rakes per day for evacuating daily production of coal to the tune of 1.80 lakh tonnes and also accumulated coal stock of 1.50 million tonnes spread over all areas of SCCL.
Sridhar emphasized that increased number of railway rakes for regular movement of coal to Thermal Power Stations in this region is critical for ensuring uninterrupted production of power.
Accompanied with ITRS Executive Director (Coal Movement) B Nagya, the SCCL MD also discussed various issues relating to railway projects such as approval of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for rail connection to Super Thermal Power Plant at Jaipur in Adilabad District and railway line between Bethampudi and Koyagudem. While underscoring the need for early completion of Asifabad siding to facilitate faster movement of coal from Bellampalli area, Sridhar requested Srivastava for expediting works on new railway lines between Badrachallam Road and Sathupalli and Uppal-Bhupalpalli to boost coal movement by rail.
The SCR GM assured to take these issues into consideration. Earlier, Sridhar met SCR Chief Operations Manager J.N. Shah and discussed production and movement of coal by the SCCL. (INN)
