SSC candidate dies on way back from shrine

Hyderabad, March 22: A journey to seek divine blessings for a good performance in the SSC examinations starting tomorrow turned fatal for a youngster.

He died in a road accident while returning from a place of worship in a freak mishap that took place near Shamshabad this morning.

Four students from First Lancer at Masab Tank, all appearing for the SSC examinations, set off for the Jameer Khilla dargah near Kottur in the neighbouring Mahaboobnagar district at 4:30 am on two motorcycles to seek divine blessings for their success in the examinations.

On way back two of them fell down when the bike hit the road divider at Rama Rao Gardens, near Madanapally. Mohammed Raziuddin Khasif (18), who was pillion-riding, was severely injured in the head while the rider Abdullah had minor injuries. Khasif was taken to the Osmania General Hospital where he was declared `brought dead’.

`It is suspected that dust blew into the face of Abdullah, blinding him and making him ram the divider,” Shamshabad police said.
