Mumbai, January 08: Sharp one liners. Witticisms. Friendly digs. Crazy potshots. All that and more is a given from the anchoring arsenal of Shah Rukh Khan.
At a recent award show, however, the audience was witness to co host Shahid Kapoor going almost mute and SRK winging it all in style and solo. Reportedly, in the one hour they shared on the award ceremony dias, Shahid, probably got in his words for some 15 odd minutes. And as per insiders, King Khan didn’t take too lightly to Sasha’s unprofessional ways since he didn’t show up for the final grand rehearsal.
Reportedly, Sasha strode in for the rehearsal only a couple of hours before the rehearsal leaving very little time for SK to get his act together. Irked organisers and an upset SRK opted to have Khan do the lion’s share of the anchoring as a safety measure.
A close pal of Shahid, though, has a diametrically different tale to tell. One that absolves SK of all blame.
States the friend, “Shahid wanted to come for the grand rehearsal, but missed his flight from Chandigarh due to bad weather. So he drove to Delhi and when he landed there was heavy fog. By the time he’d reached the rehearsal venue, Shah Rukh had already left. The next day Shahid had to work on his individual act too and so he hardly had any time for the combined act with SRK. However, Shah Rukh was very sweet to him. He called him to his van and told him to concentrate on his act and that he would take care of the combined act.”
