Kolkata [India]: Despite a disappointing loss at the hands of the Mumbai Indians, the crowd at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata had a reason to smile as Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan waved at the fans off the pitch.
Emerging out of the stands, SRK, as he is fondly called, had only encouraging words to say to his Indian Premiere League ( IPL) team, Kolkata Knight Riders.
“I wish we had won this match. This was the last game at the Eden,” he said.
“I don’t have anything to say to them (team members). I come here only for the love,” he added, when asked if he would like to give the players any advice.
Chasing a target of 174, the losing streak of the KKR continued as they could only manage 164/8 in 20 overs and lost to the Mumbai Indians by 10 runs. The KKR, however, managed to qualify for the playoffs.
The MI are currently the table topper of the first half of the season.
SRK seemed hopeful that the KKR would win the next matches and assured that he would attend the play-offs.
SRK, along with actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta, has been the owner of the KKR for ten years. (ANI)
