Hyderabad: The Srisailam Dam in Kurnool district is nearing full capacity. Against the capacity of 9.6 tmc of water, the dam has received 8 TMC water so far from the Jurala project. As a result, water is being released for Nagarjunasagar.
All turbines in the hydro-electric dam at Srisailam started functioning on Thursday morning. About 32,000 cusecs water is being released.
In all, 74,000 cusecs water is being received by the Srisailam dam at present. When the full capacity is reached, water will be released for the Potireddypadu project, which will take water to Rayalaseema. (INN)
