Srinagar: The Grand Mosque of Kashmir, Jamia Masjid is now open for prayers today after a long gap of almost six months.The mosque was closed in the wake of Covid-19 since March. Hundreds of devotees came for prayers from different localities.
After the government announced the easing of lockdown and resumption of services as well as religious places, the mosque management said that devotees should follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by medical experts.
Devotees were urged to maintain social distancing, wear face masks and also avoid shaking hands as well as hugging each other. It was also mentioned that ablution should be done at home and the people coming for prayers should mandatorily carry their own prayer rug.
