The CBI Special Court on Tuesday adjourned the bail plea of suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, who was arrested in the illegal mining case of Obulapuram Mining Company, to April 19.
The court adjourned Srilakshmi’s petition as the CBI counsel sought time to file counter petition in this connection. In her petition, Srilakshmi sought bail on the grounds that a charge sheet has already been filed against her and the court was in receipt of all records pertaining to the case. She also requested the court to consider her fragile health condition for granting bail.
The court also adjourned the bail petition of senior bureaucrat B P Acharya, the prime accused in APIIC-Emaar scam to April 19, following CBI’s appeal seeking more time to file counter petition.
In his second bail petition, Acharya said that as the vice-chairman and managing director of the APIIC, he took all the decisions bona fide in the interest of development, execution and expeditious completion of the integrated project. He said that none of his decisions resulted in financial loss to the corporation and at any rate the decisions were taken not in view of any design or conspiracy as alleged by the CBI in the charge sheet.
