Srikrishna report as per centre’s modalities: Botsa

APCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has opined that there was lack of understanding of the Justice Srikrishna Committee report on the Telangana issue. Clarifying that the five-member Committee headed by former judge of the Supreme Court would have given a single option if asked, Botcha said the committee had to give several options as per the modalities set for it by the Centre.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, Botcha said the Centre would find an amicable solution on Telangana issue acceptable to all the three regions. Stating that TRS Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao could have got an invitation from the Congress high command, he said KCR met several senior Central leaders in Delhi and held deliberations on the Telangana.

Disagreeing with the allegation that the Telangana Congress MPs were arrested by the police on specific instructions from of the Chief Minister on the day of Telangana March, the PCC chief said that the police might have arrested the MPs in view of the explosive situation. “No Chief Minister would ask the police to arrest his own party MPs”, he added.

Refuting the YSRCP leaders’ criticism against the ruling party over Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Disproportionate Assets case, Botcha said his party has nothing to do with the attachment of Jagan’s assets by the Enforcement Directorate. He said that both the YSRCP and TDP were targeting the Congress to overcome from their problems. “Both the parties are trying for political gain by maligning the Congress”, he said, adding that the law was taking its own course with regard to Jagan’s case.
