Hyderabad, May 19: Based on the direction given by Nampally criminal court, Punjagutta police are likely to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the members of Justice B N Srikrishna Committee which was constituted to study the possibility of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The petitioner Sayed Lateef filed a petition challenging the remarks made by Srikrishna committee members in the Chapter 8 of the report.
The court on April 15 had directed the Punjagutta police to register a case under several sections. Sayed Lateef told Express that despite the court giving an order several days ago, Punjagutta police have not registered the case.
“From last two days I have been requesting the inspector to register an FIR based on the directions of court, but he is avoiding citing various reasons. But he assured me that the FIR would be registered Thursday morning,” Lateef said.
When contacted Punjagutta Inspector Ashok Chakravarthy said the FIR will be registered on Thursday.
