Hyderabad, October 08: The mother of Srikanthachary, who set himself ablaze at L B Nagar for separate Telangana during the peak of the agitation, today created a mild flutter by threatening to end her life at the place where her son ended his life.
Srikanthachary was the first to end his life for the cause of separate Telangana. A native of Nalgonda district, Chary set himself ablaze on the traffic island at L B Nagar crossroads raising slogans of ‘Jai Telangana’.
Today, his mother Sankaramma reached the traffic island and threatened to die in the same manner her son ended his life.
Police, however, prevented her from taking the extreme step. Sankaramma alleged that local TRS leader Kasam Satyanarayana forced her son to end his life. Satyanarayana, she said, did not help her family after her son’s death. Police called Sankaramma’s family members and after counselling Sankaramma sent her back along with them to her native place in Nalgonda. “We have not registered any case with regard to the incident,” L B Nagar inspector Sridhar Reddy said.
