Lucknow: Advocating an out-of-court settlement of the vexed Ram Janmabhoomi – Babri Masjid issue, the spiritual Guru and founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that Court cannot solve this issue which is close to people’s emotion by issuing a decree.
“This is not prudent to think that Court can solve the Ramjanmabhoomi-Ayodhya issue. Court cannot please both the sides. This is true that the section which will lose the case will not sit silent. That section will do something or act differently which can create problems in the society,” Sri Sri said in Balrampur on Wednesday. He was on his way back to Lucknow from Gorakhpur when he had an interaction with reporters in Balrampur.
“There is an effort to solve this vexing issue through mutual consensus and this is possible only if both the warring parties come on discussion table. I am hopeful that soon this issue will be resolved amicably,” he said throwing hint that something is cooking behind the door. On Tuesday night Sri Sri had a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur where both discussed the possibility of construction of Ram Temple through mutual consensus and about the Kumbh Mela which will be held in January 2019 in Allahabad.
When asked about people questioning his credential in solving this issue Sri Sri said that people who are ignorant talk like this. “I am confident that a solution will be reached and this issue will be resolved amicably. Whatever work I take I did not leave until it is finished,” he said. A section of Hindus and Muslims have started opposing a move to find solution through mediation. VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma said that the time for mediation has finished. “And why should we go for mediation. That place belongs to Hindu samaj. Why Hindu samaj will go for any samjhauta on its own property,” Sharma said.
Even the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) have turned down the proposals. “At what capacity Sri Sri is offering solution. He is not party to the issue. The case is pending in the court and we will go by what court says,” AIMPLB counsel and convener of the Committee Jafaryab Jilani said. In Lucknow Sri Sri addressed Anurag Utsav held at Smriti Upvan in Ashiana pn Wednesday evening where he asked his thousands of devotees not to accept dowry.
