Colombo : The visit of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to the Sri Mookambika temple in Udupi district of Karnataka on Sunday was postponed due to bad weather.
Wickremesinghe was scheduled to arrive at the temple around 11 a.m. from Bengaluru, according to media reports.
Due to heavy rains in the region, his chopper could not land, despite all arrangements.
However, he is expected to visit and complete the puja rituals in the month of October.
In his absence, chief priest Narasimha Adiga performed the puja rituals around 1.50 p.m.
The number of devotees visiting the temple on Sunday was comparatively less than the ordinary days as people avoided going to temple considering the security.
Earlier last month, Wickremesinghe’s relatives had performed the ‘Navagraha Chandika homa’ at Mookambika temple. (ANI)
