Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council S R Patil today indicated that the ruling BJP may not complete its full term with the internal bickering in the party ‘alive and active’. Talking to newsmen during his visit here, he said the differences in BJP have been evident from the very behavior of former Chief Minister B S Yedyurappa inside Assembly and outside it. He denied the claim of other political parties that Congress has also been under the pressure of internal differences and said this claim has been on flimsy ground. “The members of Congress in Karnataka are totally united and the party is intact,” he said. ‘We are ready to face election at any moment and we are totally prepared. There is no question of the party hesitating to face election,’ he claimed. He said there had been competition among the party leaders in Karnataka to contest the post of KPCC I President and it is not an uncommon phenomenon. However, the leaders are committed to accept the decision of Party High Command. He said the Congress party has based on principle of secularism and never propagated any caste or religion. The report that State Congress has been claiming to nominate one Lingayath for position of President of KPCCI, has been totally wrong. Any man from any community can attain this post on the basis of his experience and at the instance of High Command.
