Squall and light showers bring respite from heat

New Delhi, June 13: A squall with a wind speed of 62 km per hour followed by light showers today brought some relief to the people here from scorching heat.

However, the maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 43 deg Celsius, three notches above normal while the minimum stood at 28.1 degrees, one degree below normal.

The squall and dust storm were followed by rains in different parts of the capital with a partial breakdown in power supply in various localities in south and central Delhi.

The squall came with a wind speed of 62 km per hour which brought the rains measuring 0.3 MM, Met officials said and forecast a partly cloudy sky in the afternoon tomorrow which may witness a dust storm and thundershower
