Bangalore, January 05: Woman stabs Bihar MLA to death Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Anil Kumble has opted out of the IV edition of cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL) saying he would not take part in the players auction to be held here on January 8 and 9.
Sources told UNI here today that former India captain decided not to go under hammer citing new assignments he had taken up, including winning the election as the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and Karnataka Wildlife Board Vice Chairman.
However, sources said Kumble was sour over liquor Baron and RCB owner Vijay Mallya not opting to retain him.
Batsman Virat Kohli was the only player who was retained by Mallya. Kumble, after his KSCA win, had however shown more interest into cricket administration to improve the game in Karnataka. But he had taken the team that ended eighth in the first edition, to the top with final and semi-final finishes in the last two editions.
