The sleuths of North Zone Task Force today arrested four persons and seized spurious zarda unit at Achireddy Nagar in Falaknuma in the city. On a tip off, the Task Force team in association with representatives of Dharampal Premchand’s Baba zarda firm, which is situated at Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, conducted raid and un-earthed the spurious zarda manufacturing unit at Achireddy Nagar and arrested two partners of the illegal unit. Machines and goods worth Rs 6 lakh were seized from the spot. The accused are M A Waseem (42), Md Afsar (55), Md Ghouse (60) and Syed Zaheer (60), all residing in Hyderabad. Sohail Khan (45), who has established a duplicate zarda unit clandestinely at Achireddy Nagar with the help of Waseem and Afsar, was absconding. The accused used to collect empty Baba and Ratna zarda tins from pan shops and fill it with spurious zarda with new seals. UNI
