The sleuths of West Zone DCP party busted ghee adulteration racket on Wednesday and arrested three persons. Besides, they seized a manufacturing machine, packing machine, brand labels of various company names, 3,250 liters of adulterated ghee worth Rs 9,75,000. The main accused Sanjay Agarwal is absconding.
On June 3, the DCP team unearthed the manufacturing of ghee with adulteration at Seetharampet in Mangalhat. Accused were identified as Sachin Agarwal, 22, and Rahul Agarwal, 24, residents of Vittalwadi, Narayanaguda, Ravi Singh, 21 an employee and resident of Vittal Wadi. The accused were found indulging in illegal manufacture of adulteration of ghee and marked with various brands such as Vijaya, Krishna, Royal King, Madhur Fresh, Shivganga, Creamy Country, Jyothi, Sri Saikrupa, Dairy Rich, Makhan Bhog, SS Gold and so on.
Police said the accused set up the manufacturing unit at Seetharampet in Mangalhat having storage and marketing at Shahinayathgunj, Bidarwadi in Begum Bazaar. The accused used to get Dalda and Palmolive Oil from the market and after filling 90% of them into the packages, add 10% of Vijaya Ghee and thereby supply/sell to the needy persons in the market under various branded names for illegal profits. The cases vide Cr. No: 181/15 U/s 272, 420 r/w 34 IPC of PS Shahinayathgunj & Cr. No: 127/15 U/s 272, 420 r/w 34 IPC of PS Mangalhat are registered and under investigation.
The arrests of the accused A-1 to A-3 were made on June 3 by the staff of DCP, West Zone A. Venkateswara Rao, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police, West Zone under the direct supervision of M. Mahender Reddy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City. (NSS)
