SP’s remarks irk TRS

Sangareddy, March 13: Irate over the developments that took place on Friday and the comments made by the Superintendent of Police, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has warned that it would proceed against Superintendent of Police A. Sunder Kumar Das legally and lodge a complaint against him with the Director General of Police if he fails to withdraw the comments made against the party.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, TRS district convenor M. Raghunandan Rao and former MLC R. Satyanarayana expressed serious objections over the comments made by Mr. Das at a press conference on Friday.

“Those who were arrested in the statue burning case of Telangana Talli at Daultabad in Hatnoora mandal did not belong to our party. They do not have even primary membership. Only Ashok Goud, allegedly involved in the destruction of Laskhma Reddy statue, is our party member,” said Raghunadan Rao.

Alleging that the Superintendent of Police has been showing his true colours of Andhra belongingness by making political comments, Mr. Raghunandan Rao said that Mr. Das is welcome to politics and can join his choice of party but it was not right to make political comments being a police official.

Mr. Satyanarayana also objected to the comments of the Superintendent of Police. “I am a journalist for more than two decades and everyone knows what I am.

Linking my name with bus burning case at Fasalwadi and alleging that I had instigated people to arson at the bus-stand and attack the houses of those from Andhra are highly objectionable.

I am demanding the Superintendent of Police to withdraw his comments immediately,” he said.
