Hyderabad: While the lockdown has been extended till May 17 and Telangana has been marked with six red zone districts, several citizens are coming forward to display humanity in this crisis.
Face masks which were once sold for Rs.5 are now sold expensively for Rs.15 or more.
The owners of Springfields School, Masab Tank, Mrs Maliha Saher and Mr. Riaz Sanai are distributing face masks among poor for free. About 20,000 masks have been distributed to date.
They have provided the necessary materials and commercial help to women of slums by giving them temporary employment to make face masks and on the other hand, they used the same masks for distribution among needy on the streets.
Using their school as a medium, they have also created awareness among students and parents on the usage of face masks for the prevention of Coronavirus. They put up a large hoarding at the Masab Tank flyover, the first school in Hyderabad to do so, carrying that message.
Moreover, charitable organizations like CRY have collaborated with the couple and taken up the task of distributing over 5,000 masks in localities such as Giri Prasad Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Shanthi Nagar.
Child Rights and You, commonly abbreviated as CRY, is an Indian non-governmental organization, which aims to restore children’s rights and is working since 1979.
The organization has been constantly rendering its helping hand towards the impact of the novel coronavirus. They have been distributing essentials like rations and other necessities.
Masks are distributed among the homeless, vendors, beggars, shopkeepers widows and all those in need irrespective of any religion.
Riaz and Mahila say, that “Our parents Mr. Muntajab Sanai & Mr. Basheeruddin Babukhan (Ex-Minister in the TDP Government of A.P.) have taught us to do good deeds and the noble cause of helping others.”

They have also given ration kits worth more than 2 Lakhs rupees to the poor people living in the slums especially to the stranded immigrant’s workers from Bihar and Jharkhand and to the widows of Old City.
