Hyderabad: The Telangana state government faced another jolt in the High Court on July 6. The Court granted stay on the G.O.No.7 issued on June 21 and ordered the state government not to consider the sports quota in professional courses for one year.
Dealing with the petition filed by sportsmen Nileroy and Kaleshreya, the High Court directed the state government to lift the sports quota in professional courses. On behalf of petitioners, advocate Rachana Reddy argued the case. She urged the Court to lift the sports quota in professional courses. She informed the Court that several irregularities took place in G.O.No.7. Reacting on it, Justice Ramasubrahmanyam Bench abolished the G.O.No.7 while delivering the verdict. (NSS)
