Srinagar [Jammu and Kashmir]: The week-long sports festival, which concluded on Tuesday on the occasion of the National Sports Day in Kashmir, brought cheer to the students of faculty of veterinary sciences (FVSC) at Shalimar Campus.
The sports festival was organised by department of dean student’s welfare of the (FVSC) that was inaugurated by vice chancellor Sheri Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) Prof Nazeer Ahmed, besides university officers, scientists and students on August 22.
The main purpose of this sports festival was to boost the sports culture and help the students to reduce their stress level which is common among them due to the burden of studies.
The week long sports-festival was aimed to make a friendly atmosphere for the benefit of students that also help them to maintain their physical fitness.
With the help of such festivals, students were able to show their hidden talent and got the proper platform to continue their sports activities.
The festival featured cricket, football, volley ball, table tennis, badminton, carom, athletic meet, quiz competition etc.
During the festival, the participants look extremely excited and energetic and they demanded that such type of activities should be held twice a year in order to promote sports culture. (ANI)
