Knee arthroscopy otherwise known as key hole surgery is performed quite commonly for sports related injuries to the knee ligaments. Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which an examination and sometimes treatment of damage of the interior of a joint is performed using an arthroscopy, a type of aendoscope that is inserted into the joint through a small incision. Arthroscopic surgery entails separate skills as compared to other commonly performed orthopedic surgeries. It needs proper training and gradual skill acquisition.

The course, which is first-of-its-kind helped many young orthopedic surgeons acquire those special skills. The course was organised as part of the Continuous Medical Education by the KIMS.
