Sporadic rain in Himachal Pradesh as monsoon weakens

Shimla:Sporadic rain occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh with weather remaining dry in most parts of the state as monsoon showed signs of weakening.

Jogindernagar, Sundernagar and Bijai received 28 mm, 22 mm and 16 mm of rainfall respectively. Mandi received 7 mm rains, followed by Baijnath 6 mm and Janjehli 5 mm.

Barring these places, rest of the region remained dry.

The local MeT office has predicted rains and thunderstorm at isolated places in lower, mid and higher hills over the next six days.

There was no significant change in maximum temperatures and Una was the hottest during the day with a high of 35 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 32.6 degrees, Sundernagar 31.6 degrees, Solan 29.4 degrees, Nahan 26.2 degrees, Shimla 25.2 degrees and Kalpa 24.8 degrees.

The minimum temperatures remained steady across the state and Keylong was the coldest in the region with a low of 9.9 degrees while Kalpa and Manali recorded minimum temperatures at 11.4 degrees and 15 degrees, followed by Shimla 16.7 degrees, Solan 20 degrees, Nahan 20.2 degrees, Dharamsala 20.7 degrees, Sundernagar 20.9 degrees, Bhuntar 21.2 degrees and Una 25.8 degrees Celsius.
