Addressing the 1st celebration of Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) birthday organized by Sani Welfare Association, Maulana Syed Tariq Quadri, Advocate and General Secretary, Soofi Academy and former member, A.P. Minorities Commission said that while celebrating Prophet Mohammed’s (SAWS) birthday piety and cleanliness are the prerequisites. He further told that by erecting the models of Kaaba and Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) tomb, people are spending crore of rupees which is unislamic. Money spent on lighting is also unwanted. There are many girls who are waiting to get married.
If the organizers of such functions spend money to bear the wedding expenses of such poor girls, it will be the proof of their love and affection for the Prophet (SAWS). Maulana Hussain Shaheed told that Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung had initiated these celebrations with good intensions but these days, such functions have assumed a different shape which is unislamic.
