Department of Education will organizes spoken English Classes for the students of High Schools from next year in Medak District.
Mr. G. Ramesh, DEO, Medak told in Jogipet yesterday while addressing a meeting of the officials of Department of Education held in Jogipet. He said that arrangements would be made to teach spoken English to the students studying in VIIIth and IXth standards.
He told the headmasters of the district to ensure quality education to the students. They should make attempts to enroll again the drop out students by canvassing “Badi Bata” programme door to door from 1st June to 10th June. Badi Bata programme would start on 12th June.
The number of students who have abandoned education would be enumerated and their parents would be bound to get their children admitted in schools for their better future. It is necessary to provide clean drinking water in schools. Planting trees should also be promoted in schools. He told that by offering special coaching in Spoken English, the students would be able to develop their communication skills which would be helpful in achieving success in their competitive examinations.
Mr. Ramesh informed that under Jala Money Scheme Rs. 20 thousand have been sanctioned to each of the 300 schools. Utilizing this grant, attempts would be made to supply drinking water in schools.
National Education Day would be celebrated in all the schools of the to mark the birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of Independent India from 1947-57. A plan would be chalked out for celebrating National Education Day. Present in the meeting were Mr. S. Shetty, Deputy DEO of Medak District.
