Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday informed the Telangana State Legislative Assembly that the State Government has decided to constitute a Special Tribunal to deal with the cases of encroachments on Wakf properties in the State.
In his reply to a question raised by Bodhan MLA Shakil and others during Question Hour, the Chief Minister admitted that thousands of acres of Wakf land worth crores of rupees in Telangana State have been encroached for the last several years. However, he said a Special Tribunal with judicial powers will be constituted to protect and to safeguard all such Wakf properties situated in Telangana. (INN)
