SPIR-IT: an Awareness programme for IT Professionals to be held on Dec 5 & 6

The Telangana government, Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) and the Brahma Kumaris will jointly conduct a two-day event on the theme of ‘Physical, Emotional and Social Health and Compassionate Health’, specially for IT professionals, on December 5 and 6 at Shanti Sarovar in Gachchibowli here.

The programme, Spirituality for IT professionals (SPIR-IT), will be inaugurated by Telangana IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao. Vice President of India Mr. Hamed Ansari will be the chief guest.

At a press conference here on Thursday, Secretary-IT, Harpreet Singh, said there were an estimated 3.5 lakh IT professionals working in and around Hyderabad. B.K. Kuldeep, who heads the Brahma Kumaris here, said the programme was created to shift the focus back to the human ‘being’, instead of the human ‘doing’, with techies battling with the everyday stress of deliverables and deadlines. “While the industry is rewarding them financially, the intangible benefits of ‘happiness and contentment’ are missing and this is what we seek to give them through the programme,” she explained.
