London: Jordan Spieth has revenge on his mind as the world number two golfer aims to avenge his squandered opportunity at The Open when he will tee off in the US PGA Championship beginning from Thursday.
Reigning Masters and US Open champion Spieth’s bid for the third leg of an unprecedented calendar slam came up agonisingly short at St.Andrews, where he finished a stroke outside the play-off between the eventual winner Zach Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.
The 22-year-old American admitted that he has got a little bit of revenge that he needs to get out from having control of the Open Championship with two holes to go and not closing it out, the BBC reported.
Spieth could replace Rory McIlroy as number one should he wins the year’s final major at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. (ANI)
