Hyderabad, August 01: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat appealed to the parents to avoid wasteful expenditure on marriage ceremonies. On the wedding day only tea should be served.
He was addressing a large gathering at Anwarul-Uloom College which was organized by Minorities Development Forum. He told that performing ‘Nikah’ in mosques is a pleasant action. He deplored the indifference of the boys in educational field and said that the girls are superseding the boys which is causing difficulty in finding suitable and well-qualified bridegrooms.
A survey conducted four years back revealed that more than 30 thousand girls are yet to be married in Hyderabad alone for want to financial resources. Unwanted rituals and unnecessary expenditure is causing hindrance in matrimonial alliances. In order to create an awareness among the Muslims, Siasat and Minorities Development Forum have jointly started this matrimonial alliance programme which is proving useful.
Mr. Abid Siddiqui welcomed the audience and Mr. Khaja Moinuddin presented the report. Mr. Ahsan Raza, I.G. of Police said that the mindset of Muslim Ummah should be changed & marriages should be made simple.
