Hyderabad, July 06: A speeding Army truck killed two teenagers at Trimulgherry on Monday. Deepak Chahal, 16, a class X student and Abhishek Chowhan, 17, a hotel management student, died on the spot when the truck rammed into their motorcycle. Deepak and Abhishek were on their way to Abhishek’s college, said the Trimulgherry sub-inspector, Mr S. Anand. The bodies have been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
“We have detained the truck and will identify the driver soon,” said Mr Anand. The driver had fled the spot. A case was booked against the driver under Section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence). Eye-witnesses said that the truck driver had moved the vehicle from the spot after the accident.
Deepak was a resident of Bhudevinagar. His father, Mr D.S. Chahal, is an ex-serviceman.
Abhishek’s family lives at the Army quarters in Trimulgherry.
