Municipal Administration & Urban Development Secretary Naveen Mittal today directed the officials concerned to speed up the process of identifying suitable vacant sites in the capital city for construction of double bedroom houses for the weaker sections.
Addressing the officials at a review meeting on double bedroom houses and community toilets held in the Secretariat today, Naveen Mittal directed them to immediately remove unauthorized constructions on the nalas in the city and provide the oustees houses built under JNNURM scheme. He asked the officials to take steps on war-footing for construction of personal as well as community toilets in the capital city to make Greater Hyderabad city as free of open defecation as part of the Prime Minister’s Swachch Bharat program. He also directed the officials to take up repairs to the disused toilets in the Housing Board colonies.
GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad district incharge Collector Prashanthi and officials from TSIIC, IDPL, Hyderabad Water Supply & Sewerage Board, Osmania University and other departments concerned attended the meeting. (NSS)
