Speed up process of carving out new districts: CM

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asked Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma to expedite the process to carve out 14 new districts adding the total number to 24 by Dasara festival.
KCR held a high level review meeting with Cabinet Sub Committee Chairman and his Deputy Mahamood Ali, Rajiv Sharma, Chief Commissioner Land Administration (CCLA) Raymond Peter and other officials at camp office here. The meeting assumes significance as KCR has already called for an all-party meeting on August 20 to dent out a plan to be implemented for new districts. After taking suggestions from all the political parties, it is unlikely that the government will head to some of the suggestions. Having offered the related modalities to the CCLA, the Government is to declare its final plan on the 14 new districts besides issuing a notification.
It is pertinent to note that the government has already circulated the details of new districts, division and allocation of officials, setting up of RDOs, Joint Collectors and other top level officers to the collectors concerned.
Later, the Chief Secretary asked the officials to speed up the measures to set up new Collectorates, offices of JCs, RDOs and others with all latest equipment and facilities. Other issues that cropped up at the key meeting were cadre strength, promotions, new appointments and existing officials and staff, according to the information. (NSS)
