Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao today instructed the officials concerned to speed up the works of second phase of MMTS as well as that of the Metro Rail works in the city.
The Minister sought the Railways and GHMC officials to speed up land acquisition and other works by making a visit in the city wherein the major works of 10 road over bridges and road under bridges are to be completed. They should be completed at the earliest to ease of traffic problems and congestion in the city he said.
KT Rama Rao conducted a high level meeting at Metro Rail Bhavan here attended by South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav, Mayor B Rammohan, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy and other officials. KTR mainly discussed on the 10 ROBs, RUBs in the city that will pave way for free movement of the vehicles. These 10 bridges will be coming up at Anandbagh, Hitc city, Kukatpally, Tukaram Gate, Bollaram, Khatlapur, Charlapally, Sastripur, Falaknuma, Uppuguda areas to ease the traffic woes. MMTS second phase of works should be taken at the earliest he said and discussed on the proposed plan for Railway Terminal at Cherlapally and Multi Model Logistics Hub in Nagulapally.
KTR asked the officials team to inspect the works and make visit to acquire lands, construction of flood flow canals, approach roads identification and speedy completion of the ongoing works of the bridges. The SCR GM promised to speed up the works of MMTS second phase and will coordinate with the GHMC and other department officials for speeding up the works of MMTS second phase. When I spoke Railway Minister responded positively to get the lands required for development works such as double bedroom houses, SRDP scheme and roads expansion KTR said and asked Vinod Kumar Yadav to initiate measures. Another round of meeting with the GHMC and Railway officials will be conducted in 15 days. He also instructed the HMDA Commissioner to come up with full details of the multi model logistics hub being planned at Nagulapally.
Referring to Metro Rail works, the minister said that the second corridor works from LB Nagar to Miyapur, Hitec City, JBS Corridors should be completed as per scheduled. Effective coordination among the departments will help speeding up the works besides increasing frequency of rails and speed. (NSS)
