Minister Jogu Ramanna today said the State government was spending huge funds for welfare of BCs by setting up Gurukul Schools and give them training for competitive examinations. He directed the officials to speed up measures to set up Gurukul Education Centers and study circles for Backward Classes in the State.
Holding a high-level review meeting with officials at Secretariat here on Saturday, Jogu Ramanna said Gurukul schools should be set up immediately without delay. The State Government was committed to provide quality education to the BCs and it is high time to set up these institutions, he added. He also said construction of study circles for the BCs must be completed on time as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was firm to offer the best quality education and training for the BC students appearing for competitive examinations. For this, the government was coming up with a plan of action to set up study circles enabling the eligible poor students get required training for Civil Services, Group I, II and other competitive examinations, he said.
The minister said the government released funds for these institutions and study circles. He also asked that the beneficiaries get timely financial support and training for skills development. The flagship programs like Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak reach the eligible and needy besides giving financial support to the students for foreign education he added. (NSS)
