The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) urged moderation when using water during ablution. He, Himself used a minimal amount of water, using just one Mudd of water (the equivalent of approximately 750 ml) when carrying out Wudu.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said ‘Do not waste water even if you were at a running stream.’
Today the water is so scarce that 844 Million people don’t have clean water. Contaminated drinking water is estimated to cause more than 5000000 diarrheal deaths each year.
