Special session of Delhi assembly extended by a day

New Delhi: The two-day special session of the Delhi Assembly, which was to end today, was extended by one day.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said that some issues being currently take up for discussion in the assembly have consumed more time than expected due to continuous protest by the Opposition.

“Some issues are to be discussed and in view of this, the ongoing session is extended by one day following which the House will sit again on Monday,” said a senior official.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today tabled Delhi Value Added Tax Amendment Bill under which online tax-collection system will be developed so that there is no tax evasion.
