A delegation of Muslim Organizations led by Mr. Abdur Raheem Quraishi met Dr. P.K. Mohanty, Chief Secretary and complained against Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, Special Officer of Wakf Board for his unilateral actions taken against the Mutawallis. The delegation told him that the Special Officer is treating Mutawallis as criminals and taking action only against a certain group of Muslim organizations. The delegation felt that it is essential to change the Special Officer in order to improve the functioning of Wakf Board.
Dr. Mohanty gave a patient hearing to the complaint and assured them that he will forward their representation to Governor of A.P.
The delegation included Maulana Qubool Basha Quadri, Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin, Maulana Azam Ali Sufi, Maulana Syed Masood Husain, Maulana Mahmood Pasha Quadri and others.
Talking to newsmen, Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin told that his suspension as Mutawalli of Dargah Hazrath Shah Khamoosh is illegal and it is violation of the rules. He challenged the special officer to discuss these issue on any TV channel. He said that the allegations of selling wakf properties and non-submission of accounts are baseless. Justice demands that before taking action, a show cause notice is served and a court of enquiry is constituted. In case, allegations are proved, permission is taken from the District Magistrate to file FIR.
The Officer set aside all the rules and regulations and got FIR registered. As a police officer he sees every Mutawalli as a criminal.
