Special law to construct Ram Mandir: RSS

Bhopal, September 02: RSS would prefer framing a law for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya even if the judgement on the issue of the disputed structure goes in their favour, former RSS spokesman Ram Madhav said here today.

“I am convinced that the judgement would come in our favour, but even then we would like to go for framing of a law by the Parliament for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya as there is no guarantee that it will be constructed after the verdict as other party will challenge it in higher court,” Madhav told reporters here.

Citing Shahbano case, he said despite court”s verdict the executive never implemented it and even the law was amended for it.

“What guarantee is there that this time also they will not do so,” he said.
Madhav was reacting to his earlier remark in a seminar that if the government implements court”s decision on the issue of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and Pakistani gunman Kasab, then they will also abide by the court ruling.

He said when they (government) did not abide by the court judgement then how can they expect it from others and therefore, as happened in the Shahbano”s case, the Parliament should frame a law after holding a debate on constructing Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
