Special CBI Court to pronounce verdict in Fodder scam case

Ranchi: The Special CBI court will today pronounce judgment in the fourth Fodder scam which involves former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The case hearing of fodder scam which included withdrawals of Rs. 3.13 crore from December 1995 to January 1996 from the Dumka treasury was completed on March 5, in which Lalu Prasad, another former CM Jagannath Mishra ad 30 others are accused.

Earlier, Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted in 2013 in the first fodder scam case and was awarded five years imprisonment. On 23 December 2017, Lalu was convicted in the second case by Special CBI court and was awarded a three and Half years jail term followed by his conviction in the third scam case which involved fraudulent withdrawals from the Chaibasa treasury on 24 January 2017 in which he has been awarded a five-year Jail term, NDTV reported.

He currently faces two other cases, one in Ranchi and one in Patna after Patna’s High Court transferred the probe to Central Bureau of Investigation.
